La Conca is one of the oldest and most limited MGAs in the whole Barolo area. Already known by the Benedictine monks of the Annunziata Abbey for the particular bluish soil and the special microclimate that makes the famous Coronary Anemones grow, unique in the Langhe, with their unmistakable purple-red color. The Conca vineyard has a very limited size, about 7000sqm and is located under the Annunziata cellar. It is our most structured Barolo, and that is why starting from the 2019 vintage it will become Riserva with a longer aging in wood.
One of the best Barolos of the vintage, this stunner opens with rose, forest berry, underbrush and new leather aromas. Drop dead gorgeous and just delicious, the full-bodied palate is loaded with flavor and finesse, featuring crushed raspberry, ripe red cherry, cake spice and licorice alongside taut, silky tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. While it's already fantastic, it also shows great aging potential.
