Q. Whats different about the new Grapes? |
|
A. Welcome to the new Grapes. Less has changed than it seems, now you the customer have more control and less standing between you and your wine. We can do business over email just like we used to, but now we need you to make an account with us first so that we can go into that account and process your orders. If you are concerned about putting your credit card information in our system know that we still store all credit card data in a secure encrypted third party server just like before. Only now, you don't have to call to update your credit card information. Updating your credit card is as easy as logging in and clicking "My Payment Options". When you recieve one of Daniel's exclusive offeres you can respond by email like in the past or you can click the link of the wine you want and add it to your shopping cart yourself. If you email us saying what wines you want that's no problem we can process the order for you as long as your account has up to date payment and delivery information. |
Q. When can I pick up my order? |
|
A. You can pick up your order as soon as you receive a notice that your order is ready to be picked up. Typically, you will get this notice 2-3 business days after you place your order (but often sooner). If you would like to pick up sooner, or have not yet received a notice on an order placed, please email us at shipping@grapesthewineco.com. As a reminder, we are open Monday-Friday 11 am to 8 pm, Saturday 10 am to 8 pm, Sunday 12 pm to 6 pm. It is HIGHLY recommended that you call or email before picking up your order. |
Q. When will you ship my order? |

A. If you live in an area where we only ship via common carrier (UPS, Fedex, etc). Typically, your order will ship on the Monday after you place your order (if placed Monday through Thursday). For example, if you place an order on a Friday, generally speaking, your order will ship 10 days later (some exceptions will be made for more expedited shipping). However, if you place an order on Wednesday, the order is likely to ship 5 days later. While this is confusing, and seems crazy, this is not our doing. Certain folks in our industry make shipping very complicated, arduous and not legal. We do our best to work for you, our client, without doing anything illegal! |
Q. Why am I paying sales tax on my order? |

A. On June 21, 2018, The United States Supreme Court ruled in South Dakota v. Wayfair that states can mandate that businesses without a physical presence in a state must collect and remit sales taxes on transactions in the state. What this means is that all of your purchases from Grapes The Wine Company are now subject to sales tax. |
Q. When is it too cold or too warm to ship? |
|
A. Our shipping boxes are very well insulated and can withstand temperatures that other shipping boxes, utilized by other merchants, cannot. We will not ship if the temperatures go lower than 20 degrees or higher than 85 degrees. We do hold packages for summer heat at no charge. For the rest of the year, orders are held, free of charge, for up to 60 days. This includes orders that you are picking up from our store. |
Q. When will I receive my delivery? |

A. Well, that depends. We have regular local delivery routes that are done weekly (Westchester & Fairfield counties, as well as Manhattan residences), some are done bi-monthly (Long Island, Queens, Bronx) and others just monthly (Manhattan businesses, Northern NJ). As orders increase in the area that you live in, we will increase the amount of deliveries to your area each month (hint hint). |
Q. Does Grapes offer case discounts? |
|
A. Yes, all wines that are NOT on sale, including Champagne, are eligible for a discount of 15% on 12 btls (750ml) or more. In addition, 6 magnums (1.5L) or 24 half btls (375ml) will get you the same discount. The discount will appear in your shopping cart when you qualify. |
Q. Where does Grapes The Wine Company deliver free of charge? |

A. Orders of $100 or more are delivered free of charge to the following areas:
Westchester County, Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Long Island & Brooklyn. In addition, parts of Dutchess and Putnam Counties are also delivered free of charge for orders under $100. |

Q. Where can I update my address, email address, and credit card information? |

A. When you log into your account in the upper right hand portion the website, you can update your credit card, change your billing address, change your delivery address, etc. |
Q. How are case discounts applied? |
|
A. Case discounts are applied to orders for wine only (not spirits) at 15% off of a case equivalent of 9L or more (24 half btls, 12 btls, 6 magnums, etc). This discount is applied wines that are NOT on sale! |
