La Corvee is one of the northernmost Premier Cru vineyards in the Cote de Beaune, located within the lesser-known Ladoix appellation. Although the vineyard is in sight of the Corton hill, the site of some of Burgundy's greatest vineyards, it has a distinctive terroir making mostly Pinot Noir-based wines that are fruit driven and muscular, if slightly less refined than those of its Grand Cru neighbors.
The Ladoix appellation still lies within the Côte de Beaune growing area, yet juxtaposes the boundary with the Côte de Nuits area to the north. With the famous Corton hillside as a neighbour, the Ladoix vineyards enjoy an outstanding reputation.
