Tyler Winery’s 2017 Bien Nacido Old Vine Pinot Noir is the final vintage for this wine, as the original vines planted in 1973 have at unfortunately seen their final days. The herbal, reductive nose found here is consistent across multiple wines sourced these old vines, and gives way to a plush, generous palate. The finish takes a bright and angular turn, with flavors orange rind, red licorice and rhubarb. The end of an era, but handled beautifully.
