Thibaud Boudignon farms 3.5 hectares in the heart of Anjou and Savennières, from which he makes what must be some of the most exciting wines in the Loire Valley. Very much of the opinion that wine is made in the vineyard, he devotes himself to the health of his vines and keeps the winemaking simple. Clos de le Hutte is an astonishing wine, made from a single, densely planted vineyard of Chenin Blanc in one of the best sites in the region. Aged in a mix of different oak barrels (mostly used), it is full-bodied, austere and finely-etched.
