Displaying a deep purple red, Le Volte dell’Ornellaia 2022 shows ripe fruity aromas such as cherries and blackberries, in addition to black pepperiness. The palate is generous with considerable body at first, followed by smooth and enduring tannins. Upbeat freshness and pleasurable fruity aromas make up the finish. Blend: 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot

Very aromatic, with raspberry, orange peel and floral aromas. Nice transparency. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a crisp, crunchy finish. 

A fresh, expressive red, this also exhibits tension, lending energy to its black currant, cherry, licorice and cedar flavors. Graphite and salty accents add detail on the long, tightly wound finish. The aromatics are sweet and fragrant, with crushed damson plum, grilled sandalwood, leather, gourmet edged, easy to sink into, and extremely well made. Higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon than in previous vintages of Volte, aged in barrels that were first used for Ornellaia. Director Axel Heinz left half way through this vintage, winemaker Olga Fusari skilfully brings it home.
