The Paitin 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo Starda has a lot of cherry, cherry cola and cherry candy. It's monotone for sure, but the brightness of the fruit goes a long way to give vertical lift and punchiness to the aromas. The effect is simple, but I personally prefer the brightness of this wine to the dry or overripe tones you find in many of the Langhe Nebbiolos from the hot 2022 vintage. - Monica Larner
The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo Starda is a soft, fruity wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit, spice and rose petals lend considerable nuance to this attractive, mid-weight Nebbiolo. Sandy soils yield an especially aromatic red. - Antonio Galloni
