Véronique Drouhin has a special affection for Les Petits Monts as it’s a vineyard that she owns herself. This high-altitude (for Vosne) red sees a combination of 50% whole bunches and 30% new wood and is always racy, refined and enticingly aromatic. Spicy, complex and very sweet, it's a hauntingly complex, detailed red Burgundy. (Drink between 2024-2032)
Dense purple with a heady nose, also with plenty of oak. There are some plummy notes in the bouquet, but actually a liquid dark raspberry prevails. Really long fine finish, a perfume which sings in the glass. A lot of whole cluster here, nearly half, which integrates beautifully. I think the bouquet will be that much more refined by the time the wine reaches bottle.
