Fullerton - Pinot Noir Poetry Willamette Valley 2022

“Not every Pinot Noir needs to be serious! This is one of our favorite new additions from the Willamette this year. Fullerton’s “Poetry” bottling has a picnic scene… I have a hunch they kept their Pinot on a couple of ice packs en route to the picnic.” – Tish

Fullerton Description

An entire family of wine lovers, the Fullertons can trace their passion for wine to Eric, the family patriarch, who was first introduced to wine growing and production during his teenage years while working as a cellar hand in Germany (a story in and of itself). A few years later, his best friend in Denmark inherited a cellar of Bordeaux and Burgundy. With this incredible resource for tasting, their interest in wine grew and they began traveling throughout France discovering new producers to fuel their passion. When Eric met his future wife Susanne in Stockholm, it didn’t take long for her to fall in love with both Eric and wine. Marriage soon followed, and they continued tasting, savoring, and cellaring wine. The couple’s oenological obsession was passed down to their three children, Alex, Caroline, and Flip. Fast forward to 2011, when Fullerton Wines began as a humble dream operating out of a garage. Alex and Eric partnered with their good friend Roger Wallberg and made only a few barrels of Pinot Noir. Despite the challenging vintage and no fancy facilities, the wine impressed, and Fullerton Wines was born.

In the years since its inception, Fullerton Wines has grown to make single-vineyard wines from exceptional AVAs in the Willamette Valley with a hyper focus on quality and sustainability. The ability to maintain healthy soils and do their part to help mitigate climate change is critical to the Fullertons. Through Biodynamic farming methods, they improve the stability, drainage, water-holding capacity and filtration of the soils. As Fullerton Wines makes its way into its second decade, the winery remains a deeply personal family collaboration. Eric’s son, Alex Fullerton is the current winemaker and the rest of the family continues to be involved in many aspects of the winery.
