The 2021er Halenberg Riesling GG, as it is referred to on the consumer label, proves quite smoky and primary at first and only gradually reveals its
complexity as fine and elegant notes of white flowers, anise, minty herbs, grapefruit zest, lavender, and thyme come through. The wine proves
superbly intense and zesty on the focused and linear palate. There is good presence to buffer off the acidity and the finish is superbly fresh and
intense. Smoky and herbal flavors are some of the elements coming through in the after-taste. This is a great GG in the making, but one that
requires some aging to fully shine.
