4th Classified Growth of Saint-Julien, Château Talbot is one of the emblematic references of the Médoc. Acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot is today managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon. The Connectable Talbot 2022 is a Second Wine of Saint Julien.
Château Talbot is a Saint-Julien wine from a vineyard extending over 94.3 hectares in a single plot in the heart of the appellation. Aged 29 years on average, the vines dedicated to the production of this Second Wine of the property enjoy an ideal location since they are located on the edge of the Gironde estuary and rest on a terroir of Médoc gravel.
The Connétable Talbot 2022 is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (56%) and Merlot (44%).
A touch of black bean puree to the ripe dark cherries and grilled herbs. Medium-bodied on the palate with juicy fruit, round tannins and a pretty flavorful, lengthy finish. Drink from 2026.
Rich and concentrated fruit, dark blackcurrants, bramble fruit, juicy with a tiny hint of sweetness but quite light and aerial in terms of fleshiness, tannins are super fine and sleek giving this a taught frame and sense of slick direction. Actually feels really classy and classic, not massively layered but delivers a really enjoyable glass. Excellent. Harvest 9-28 September. Yield of 40hl/ha. 3.81pH. - Georgina Hindle,
