Chateau Saint Pierre - St. Julien 2022 (Pre-arrival)

Chateau Saint Pierre Description

Owned by the Henri Martin estates, Château Saint-Pierre is a Saint-Julien 4th Grand Cru Classé. Under the impetus of the dynamic Henri Martin, the vineyard of Château Saint-Pierre was gradually put back together to how it existed in 1855. The estate is now one of the most famous references in this emblematic appellation.

Château Saint-Pierre 2022 is a Saint-Julien wine with 17 hectares of vineyards. With ISO 140001 and HVE 3 certification, the Henri Martin estates, including Château Saint-Pierre, are cultivated using integrated farming methods, with the use of organic and bio-control products.

Château Saint-Pierre 2022 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Merlot (12%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petit Verdot (2%).

Jeb Dunnuck: 98 Points

Blackcurrants, graphite, crushed stone, and liquid violet notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Saint-Pierre (Saint-Julien), another deeply colored, powerful, full-bodied Saint-Julien. Coming from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. It's going to stand with the truly greats from not only this terroir but the entire Médoc.

James Suckling: 95-96 Points

95-96 Points, James Suckling, jamessuckling.com: "Deep, meaty and structured with full body and layers of fine-grained tannins, which are polished and velvety. Complex and long with a deep core of dark fruit. This is under the radar and has small plots near Le Pin and La Fleur Petrus." 04/23

Vinous: 94-96 Points

94-96 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2022 Saint-Pierre was picked 12-26 September at around 35hL/ha and matured in 48% new oak. It has an intense bouquet with black cherries, iodine and touches of blood orange. Delineated and focused. The palate is where the action is with gorgeous svelte tannins, perfectly judged acidity, harmonious, plush but not overbearing. Velvety toward the finish, yet there is real tenderness here. It actually is reminiscent of Las-Cases at the moment." 4/23
