Chateau Peby-Faugeres - St.-Emilion 2022 (Pre-arrival)

Chateau Peby-Faugeres Description

Owned by Silvio Denz, Château Peby Faugères is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé located on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Thanks to the efforts and investments made by Silvio Denz, Château Peby Faugères has gradually become one of the finest references in the appellation.

Château Peby Faugères is a Saint-Émilion wine that stems from a vineyard of 7.15 hectares. The vines are planted on a clay-limestone slope in a single block and have a south/south-east orientation.

This 2022 vintage celebrates the 25th vintage of Château Péby Faugères. Created in 1998 under the impetus of Corinne Guisez, widow of Pierre-Bernard "Peby" Guisez, this estate bears the imprint of Pierre-Bernard Guisez, who, together with Michel Rolland, identified the full potential of this terroir.
To mark this anniversary, Silvio Denz is unveiling a bottle of great elegance, paying tribute to the men and women who have shaped the history of this estate.

Vatting time of 30 days in concrete and stainless steel vats and barrels. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 45% of which are new and 45% of which are one wine and 10 are two wines.

Merlot (100%).

James Suckling: 97-98 Points

"A very fine tannined red with a linear line running through it, which drives the whole thing. Black berry, bark and walnut character. Medium to full body with a juicy finish. Light bitter lemons and oranges. Chewy, yet the tannins are well-integrated. 100% merlot. From organically grown grapes."-James Suckling

Jeb Dunnuck: 96-98 Points

"I loved the 2022 Château Peby Faugères, a full-bodied, concentrated, powerful Saint-Emilion coming from the cooler eastern edge of Saint-Emilion. Cassis, currants, graphite, spicy wood, and dried herbs define the bouquet, and it brings beautiful depth of fruit, building yet ripe tannins, no hard edges, and a great, great finish. It has a rare mix of opulence and elegance and is going to shine with just 3-5 years of bottle age. If you need your Bordeaux to be lean, anemic, and devoid of fruit, look elsewhere."-Jeb Dunnuck
