The 2018 Champagne Cuvée Ephemère Extra Brut is entirely Chardonnay coming from the Grand Cru villages of Oger, Avize, and Cramant. Pouring a bright straw hue, it’s pure with aromas of fresh pear, wet stone, fresh flowers, and lemon zest. Focused and bright on the palate, it remains approachable, although it has a focused, mineral-tinged texture that feels racy on the palate, a silky, soft texture, and vibrant acidity without feeling harsh. It has a beautiful energy throughout, balanced with ripe fruit, a svelte, medium-bodied frame, and a lively mousse. Drink 2023-2030. - Audrey Frick
