Bledsoe Family - Chardonnay Elizabeth 2019
Jeb Dunnuck: 92 Points
All Chardonnay from the Walla Walla Valley aged 18 months in a mix of new and used French oak, the 2019 Chardonnay sports a medium gold hue as well as a rich, medium to full-bodied, toasty style that carries lots of honeyed tangerines, pineapple, toasted bread, and spice. It shows good balance on the palate, and while it's a rich, textured Chardonnay, it has a good spine of acidity as well as a clean, lengthy finish. A terrific, outstanding Chardonnay, it should keep for 3-4 years, if not longer. Owned by NFL star Drew Bledsoe, these wines are made by Josh McDaniel, who was previously at Figgins Family before moving into the head winemaking role at Doubleback. This small family-run operation has four estate vineyards, all in Walla Walla, and they produce gorgeous, complex, classically styled Bordeaux blends.
