Tasting Notes via Master of Malt Glenlivet 1999 #77205
Nose: Amongst a touch of fudge and gentle wisps of smoke comes chewy sultanas and Sherried peels, with waxy orange peels and white pepper and cinnamon spice.
Palate: A sweet and complex open brings manuka honey and walnut, with robust vanilla and dark chocolate. Chewy, tannic oak and elegant spice round it off.
Finish: Long and dry, with creamy toffee and a little oak.
An independent bottling of single malt from the Glenlivet distillery in Speyside, distilled back in 1999 and bottled in 2017 by Italian bottler Samaroli as a single cask edition yielding only 162 bottles. As ever, Samaroli have beautifully presented this excellent whisky with a gorgeous label depicting the sea.
