After aging 6 years in KY, our exclusive NULU single barrel was bottled over the summer. This bourbon was distilled at Barton Distillery, an often forgotten faction of Buffalo Trace. After tasting numerous barrel samples, we unanimously chose this barrel for its robust midpalate and decadent finish. Don’t let the whopping 134.4 proof scare you away! Just a little water extenuates the dessert notes that well aged KY bourbon can offer. 

Nose: Vanilla, toasted oak, crème brulee 
Palate: Maple, candied cherry, baking spice, 
Finish: Pleasant spice from rye and proof, cherry cola, plum, cacao
Water: Adding a splash of water unlocks notes of toasted marshmallow from front to back. Despite the dilution, this dram remains decadent while maintaining fruit and spice characteristics. 
 
NULU Whiskey is a family owned independent bottler. Based out of the Bluegrass State, the name “NULU” stands for the “New Louisville”, an accurate depiction of the distillery’s “modernesque” neighborhood. The Hazelbakers’ KY roots give them access to some of the finest whiskies made in America, and my eyes lit up when I first tasted our barrel pick!
