Founded in 1772, in El Puerto de Santa Maria (Cadiz), Bodegas Osborne is one of Spain's most distinguished wine and sherry producers and one of the oldest family-owned businesses in the world. Since those early years, Osborne has remained in family hands. Today, Mr. Tomás Osborne Gamero-Cívico, the fifth Count of Osborne, directs the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors. They place an extremely high value on quality and consistency to offer consumers exceptional wines with equally attractive pricing.
Osborne owns nearly 400 hectares, much in the Balbaina district of Jerez Superior, and fairly recently acquired the old Domecq VORS soleras. Their vast company portfolio also encompasses the well reputed Bodegas Montecillo wines from Rioja, Solaz wines from Tierra de Castilla and Dominio de Malpica wines also from Tierra de Castilla. Brandy, port and other distinguished spirits as well as delicious Iberian pork products, bottled water and TOROXL energy drinks, round out the comprehensive portfolio. Really, Osborne is more of an empire than a company.
"The NV Rare Sherry Oloroso Solera BC 200 has an average age of 40 years from a solera created in 1864. It shows a dark bright orange color, a discrete, aristocratic nose showing some aromatic herbs, perfumed flowers, not easy to define. The palate is even more peculiar, only medium- to full-bodied, dominated by balsamic flavors, aromatic herbs, old furniture, with good persistence and length, and a warm finish. 250 bottles are produced each year. A most unusual wine."-Luis Gutierrez
