Domaine Chevillon’s 2024 Nuits “Vieilles Vignes” is going to be an absolutely stellar villages level bottling this year. The bouquet is deep, pure and beautifully sappy in profile, hopping from the glass in a mix of black cherries, sweet dark berries, a gorgeous base of soil, gamebird, dark chocolate and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, precise and very deep at the core, with great purity of fruit, superb soil undertow and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, impeccably balanced and nascently complex finish. This is going to be excellent villages. - John Gilman
